Job Overview:

SAPA Transmission is seeking an HR & Safety Specialist to support our manufacturing facility by assisting the HR team with hiring, onboarding, employee engagement, and daily HR administration while helping maintain a safe, compliant workplace. This role is hands‑on, people‑focused, and essential to keeping the HR department running smoothly.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the HR team with full‑cycle hiring: job postings, resume screening, interview coordination, and candidate communication.
• Administer daily HR functions including attendance tracking, documentation, HRIS updates, and employee inquiries.
• Lead new‑hire orientation and onboarding to ensure a smooth, positive start for all employees.
• Support employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and communication efforts.
• Maintain accurate and confidential employee records, benefits documentation, and personnel files.
• Assist with OSHA compliance and company safety standards.
• Participate in safety audits, inspections, and hazard identification on the production floor.
• Support incident reporting, investigation follow‑up, and corrective action tracking.
• Maintain safety documentation, training logs, and SDS records.
• Promote a strong safety culture through communication, visibility, and consistent follow‑through.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Environmental Health & Safety, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 1–3 years of HR experience, ideally in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
• Basic understanding of OSHA requirements and workplace safety programs.
• Effective communication, organization, and follow‑through skills.
• Ability to multitask and stay effective in a fast‑paced environment.
• Comfortable spending time on the production floor to support safety activities.
• HR or safety certifications (PHR, SHRM‑CP, OSHA 30) are a plus.
