Educational Consultant (Middle School Math)- Per Diem- New York City, NY

Professional Learning Educational Consultant (Math) – Per Diem – New York City Position located in New York City, NY. This is not a remote role; you must live within 30 miles of the posting city or be willing to relocate and have your own transportation. Hours: Per diem, scheduled as needed and paid hourly. Peak periods are August‑October and January‑February. Students may work during normal school hours; a full‑time role concurrently is not recommended. Travel: Up to 80% of the time, including overnight stays and travel by car, plane, or public transportation. Responsibilities Facilitate high‑quality professional development, training, support, and data analysis for teachers, coaches, and school leaders. Communicate consultatively with school teachers and leaders to provide tailored on‑site support. Coordinate on‑site product training and professional development courses for teachers and administrators. Adjust professional development workshops within specified parameters to fit participant needs. Support equity in the classroom by delivering courses on effective implementation of Ready and i‑Ready. Provide lesson‑planning, pacing support, data analysis, and evidence‑based implementation review to educators and leaders. Engage in the internal cycle of professional improvement: being observed, receiving feedback, and receiving coaching. Track and submit detailed training notes and complete all assignments in a timely manner. Present a professional image at all times to customers and prospects. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree and at least 2+ years of experience in teaching Mathematics, coaching teachers of Mathematics, and providing Mathematics professional development. Preferable experience teaching mathematics at the secondary (6‑12) level and/or a degree in Mathematics or Mathematics education. Strong working knowledge of the Common Core State Standards for Mathematics for grades 6‑8. Fluency with digital tools, including online assessments, and comfort discussing and applying data with teachers and leaders. Understanding of adult learning principles and how to apply them to professional development. Excellent facilitation, interpersonal, and communication skills. Exceptional time‑management and organizational skills with high attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint) and online meeting programs (e.g., Zoom, WebEx). Ability to work independently and as part of an educational cohort. Valid driver’s license required. Benefits Competitive hourly rate starting at $65/hour.
