ISD #2687 has the following position available: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for the 2026-2027 school year, including the 2027 extended school year calendar. This position is located at HLWW Middle School, five days a week, eight hours a day.

Job Summary: Under the direction of the district licensed school nurse and special education supervisor, the LPN will be assigned to provide support to students with various health needs. Other duties include: assisting with health screenings, hearing and vision screenings, third party billing and related documentation for special education. Experience with epilepsy, type one diabetes, tracheostomies, g-tubes, and associated medical equipment is preferred.

Qualifications: Active LPN licensure in the state of Minnesota, graduate of an accredited LPN program, current CPR certification. Ability to follow procedures and written care plans to administer medications and treatments; provide care to students as needed under guidance of the licensed school nurse. Provides ongoing observations in regards to students' health conditions and communicates updates to the licensed school nurse and/or parent. Ability to effectively establish and maintain working relationships with students, parents, and staff. Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements: Daily work will take place in a standard office and/or classroom setting. The LPN will work independently under the supervision of the licensed school nurse and special education director. Physical demands include sitting, standing, walking, and bending. Potential contact with infectious diseases, blood and bodily fluids. Must be physically capable to respond to emergencies within the building, perform CPR and other rescue maneuvers.
