Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join a dynamic and specialized nursing team. This position is focused on a Urology Unit, catering to patients with high-acuity needs.

Key Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with complex health conditions.
Administer medications and treatments, including insulin and heparin drips.
Maintain a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:6 or 1:7.
Ensure patient safety and comfort while monitoring vital signs and health status.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to create effective care plans and interventions.
Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance nursing practice and knowledge.

Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with a strong focus on high-acuity environments.
Proficiency with insulin and heparin drips is essential.
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification is required.
NIH (National Institutes of Health) certification is required.
Familiarity with peritoneal dialysis is a plus but not mandatory.
Compassionate and patient-centered approach to nursing care.

Work Schedule

This position offers flexible scheduling options, including 36 or 48 hours per week. Orientation sessions occur bi-weekly on Mondays, with contracts concluding on a Tuesday. Weekend coverage is a requirement, and block scheduling is available except during holidays.

Additional Requirements

All candidates must be willing to comply with COVID-19 vaccination requirements, allowing for documented religious or medical exemptions.
Flu vaccination is required unless a documented exemption is provided.
16 hours of non-billable orientation time is included.
Scrub colors are designated as navy or navy pants with a white top.
