Registered Nurse - PACU

Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Specialist

Provides specialized post-anesthesia care to patients recovering from surgery or procedures in a PACU setting. Ensures patient safety, monitors vital signs, and manages postoperative recovery.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patients vital signs and overall condition upon arrival and throughout recovery.
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and protocols.
• Monitor and respond to patient symptoms, ensuring stabilization and comfort.
• Document patient progress, interventions, and responses accurately in medical records.
• Collaborate with surgical team to coordinate care and facilitate timely patient discharge.
• Adhere to all safety standards and hospital policies, including holiday work requirements.

Qualifications:

• Possess at least 2 years of recent experience in a PACU or related specialty.
• Hold current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Maintain NIHSS certification as required.
• Demonstrate strong assessment skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work M-F, 8 am 6:30 pm, on a 13-week assignment.
• Willing to work holidays, including Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's, and one minor holiday.
