Haskell is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer in St. Louis for our team focused on industrial projects, consumer goods, and private‑sector client facilities design. The goal is for this Senior Structural Engineer to integrate into Haskell with the intention of becoming the next Lead Structural Engineer in our St. Louis office. This role is ideal for a licensed engineer who enjoys technical leadership, team development, and client‑facing project execution. This individual will collaborate with other engineering disciplines and construction teams within Haskell, driven by the same values of team, excellence, service, and trust. Key Responsibilities Lead a structural project design team of Professional Engineers, Engineers‑In‑Training, and BIM/CAD Designers. Collaborate with Structural Engineering Leaders in other Haskell locations across the country and international design centers. Develop best practices and drive continuing growth of the discipline across the company. Assist in securing project work by representing Haskell as a structural design project lead in client‑facing engagements and developing detailed discipline scopes and budgets for proposal efforts. Ensure quality control by providing technical guidance, problem‑solving expertise, performing interdisciplinary coordination, and supporting construction efforts. Keep updated on new technologies and assist in the incorporation of emerging technologies into the A/E practice and discipline design standards. Lead large engineering design projects as engineer of record. Lead Engineer Growth Opportunities In the role, you will be mentored by the AE Design Director and current lead structural engineer with the intention of developing into the lead structural engineer position. Create department project budgets, delegating projects/tasks to group engineers and designers, attend client & project meetings, and manage project deadlines and overall workload within the group. Work with the Structural Practice Area Leader in the developing group and corporate standards, and in research and incorporation of innovative technologies. Participate in company‑wide structural discipline design and standards committees. Coach and mentor staff by performing team member performance reviews, manage career path opportunities, and encourage professional development. Participate in a leadership role in quality assurance/quality control/best practices of structural engineering work for efficiency, constructability, and safety in the field. Partner with lead engineer to assist in team growth by recruiting discipline staff. Requirements Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited university. Professional Engineer (PE) license required. Structural Engineer (SE) license preferred. 8+ years of structural engineering experience. Ability to actively engage in multiple assignments and prioritize competing project demands. Communicate effectively and professionally with external/internal customers and staff to convey pertinent project information, work through issues, and drive solutions. Collaborative and forward‑thinking approach to drive company excellence, team performance, and quality work. Possess or quickly develop a working understanding of primary company software: SAP2000, ETABS, SAFE, RAM Structural System, RAM Elements, Viktor AI, Profis Engineering Suite, Energcalc, Mathcad, Tedds, Idea Statica, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office and Teams, Revit, etc. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and build trust with other design team members, construction partners, and clients. Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements While performing the duties of this job, this position is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds. Requires good hand‑eye coordination, and arm, hand and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read application/form information.
