As an Associate Engineer you will be a technically minded and talented individual, starting your journey to becoming a Field and Datacentre Operations engineer within Sky Network Field Ops department.

What You'll Do

• You will be part of a team responsible for the physical implementation and first line maintenance of Sky's core IP and transmission networks, which supports Sky products including: broadband, talk, mobile, corporate, and wholesale services.
• The role will cover the day-to-day operations and maintenance within the Sky POP and datacentre environments ensuring all support functions are performed to Sky's exemplary standards.
• You will also be responsible for the physical implementation and preventative maintenance within the Sky LLU estate, situated in Openreach telephone exchanges.
• Be responsible for the restoration of network faults across the Sky network meeting defined SLAs.

What You'll Bring

• Proven experience within the telecom / ISP industry
• Experience in the installation of copper (Cat5e, Cat6) and fibre optic structured data cabling is essential.
• Full UK driving licence
• A great aptitude for innovation and forward thinking.
• Outstanding communication skills.
• Have a great attitude and determination to learn.
• Positive energy and enthusiasm.
• Exceptional organisational skills.

Comms Group:

We are responsible for the strategy, architecture, design, and operations of all telecom services provided by Sky across the group (UK&I, Germany and Italy). We deliver 4G/5G mobile, broadband and fixed line services using ground-breaking technologies and modern operational paradigms such as SRE and Agile. From high scale routing, network automation, telco cloud, SDN/NFV to software development and data science for predictive operations, we adopt modern technologies, practices, tools with a strong focus on people development to provide the stability and performance that our customers depend on!

Where Will You Work

Based in Slough - Reading area covering M 4 Corridor/South area on a work pattern of 5 working days per week / 37.5 hours/week.
