Position: Shipfitter Location: Theodore, AL Pay: $28.32/hour Experience: 3 years of experience as a shipfitter (or in a related marine/manufacturing/fabrication environment). Type: Full-time; Contract Schedule: Day Shift or Night Shift Clark Personnel is hiring experienced Shipfitters to support shipbuilding and fabrication work on steel and aluminum vessels. This role is hands‑on and requires strong layout, cutting, and blueprint-reading skills. Job Description Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications. Perform layout, cutting, and fitting of steel and aluminum using appropriate tools and equipment. Execute basic welding tasks, including tack welding, to support proper fit-up and alignment. Measure and verify dimensions using tape measures and other measuring devices to maintain accuracy and material “fairness.” Identify fit-up or alignment issues and promptly notify supervisors to prevent rework or safety concerns. Operate tools and equipment safely while following all safety policies and procedures. Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to support project timelines and quality standards. Maintain tools and work areas in a safe, organized condition. Position Requirements Ability to read and understand blueprints and technical drawings. Proficiency in layout and cutting of steel and aluminum. Basic welding experience, including the ability to tack weld. Ownership of basic tools required to perform shipfitter duties. Strong math skills with the ability to read measuring devices and maintain dimensional accuracy. Proven problem‑solving skills and attention to detail. Good verbal communication skills.
