The role of a Guest Advocate can provide you with the skills and experience of:Communicating and interacting with guests to build a welcoming guest experienceBlending problem solving and decision making to positively impact the guest experience and resolve guest concernsAdapting to different guest interactions and situationsPromoting and engaging around various benefits, offerings, and servicesAs a Guest AdvocateNo two days are ever the same, but a typical day will most likely include the following responsibilities:Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the guest service experience by delivering the service standardCreate a welcoming experience by greeting guests as you are completing your daily tasks.When guests need assistance, engage with guests in a welcoming way, to help solve their specific needs.Make the guest aware of current promos, store activities, and events.Be knowledgeable about the tools, products, and services available in the total store, and specific to your area, to solve issues for the guest and improve their experience.Thank guests and let them know we're happy they chose to shop at Target.Know and speak to the benefits of Target Loyalty programs with every guest and assist with application or sign-up as needed.Scan and bag all guest items efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with food safety standards and company best practices.Work efficiently to minimize guest wait time while maintaining guest service and accuracy.Understand and show guests how to use the features and offerings within the Target App including Wallet.Be familiar with Order Pick-Up, Drive Up and online ordering, and know how to direct the guest to enroll, activate, and use the se features.Attempt every return and follow register prompts; partner with immediate Leaders as needed to help solve for the guest while following Target’s policies and procedures.Maintain a clean, clutter-free work area by gathering unpurchased items, baskets, and hangers for removal.Stock supplies during store open hours while being available for the guest.Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance.Work in a safe manner at all times; comply with all safety policies, best practices, and training; report hazards and correct where possible.Support guest services such as order pick up (OPU), Drive-up (DU) Orders, DU Returns and maintain a compliance culture while executing those duties, such as compliance with federal, state, and local adult beverage laws.All other duties based on business needsWhat We Are Looking ForThis may be the right job for you if:You enjoy interacting and helping others - including guests that shop our store and fellow team members you work with.You thrive in a fast-moving, highly active and physically demanding role, where teamwork, flexibility, and creative problem solving are key to success.You are open to working a flexible work schedule with varying hours, days or shifts (including nights, weekends, holidays and other peak shopping times).Skills You Should Have From The Get-GoThere are a few skills you should have from the get-go:Communicating effectively, including using positive language and attentive to guests needsWelcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and other team membersAttention to detail while prioritizing tasksWilling to educate guests and engage around products and servicesAbility to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners, and other technology equipment as directed.Work both independently and with a teamCapability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframesBasics We ExpectWe are an awesome place to work and care about our teams, so we want to make sure we are clear on a few more basics that we expect:Accurately handle checkout operations, transactions, and support cash office operations as neededScan, handle, and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including frequently lifting or moving product up to 10 pounds and occasionally lifting or moving merchandise up to 4 pounds without additional assistance from others.Flexible work schedule (e.g., nights, weekends and holidays); reliable and prompt attendance necessary.Ability to remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift (shift length may vary).Capable of working in and exposure to varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements while performing certain job duties including but not limited to Drive-Up, carryout, etc.Find competitive benefits from financial and education to well-being and beyond.Benefits Eligibility: Please paste this URL into your preferred browser to learn about benefits eligibility for this role: with Disabilities Act (ADA): In compliance with state and federal laws, Target will make reasonable accommodations for applicants with disabilities.
