Flex Order Selection Team MemberIn this part-time fast-paced role, you are the boots on the ground and responsible for accurately and efficiently pulling customer orders within the warehouse. This role requires strategic thinking and attention to detail while palletizing orders and ensuring they are placed in the correct assigned locations. You will operate motorized equipment including Electric Pallet Jacks while ensuring that you safely and accurately move product within the warehouse. Here at UNFI we do our best work by embracing the power of team, never giving up and knowing that we make a difference.Job Responsibilities:Selects various grocery, perishable, frozen or repack products from warehouse stockReports adjustments to inventory counts, spoilage or damage to stock, location changes, and out of stocksTransports product throughout warehouse via electric pallet jackResponsibilities include maintaining order selection performance standards of speed and accuracy with minimum damage and maximum safetyPerform duties in accordance with Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) and Safe Quality Food (SQF) policies and procedures, as appropriate for locationOther duties as assignedJob Requirements:Must work at least 8 hours a weekMust be able to attend training 8 AM until complete Tuesday through Friday for first week of training, and continue to 7 PM Overnight Shift training the following two weeks Monday through ThursdayAbility to frequently lift and carry objects weighing up to 75 pounds and to occasionally lift and carry objects weighing up to 100 poundsAbility and willingness to work in a range of temperatures from -20 to 90+Available and willing to work holidays and weekendsMust be able to pass a criminal background check and a drug screenExperience:Preferred: have experience in a large warehouse/distribution company within the last 3 yearsPreferred: have experience with an Electric Pallet Jack or Reach LiftsUnderstanding of WMS preferred but not requiredKnowledge:Must have strong knowledge of all warehouse procedures and functionsUnderstanding of Safety guidelinesSkills/ Abilities:Ability to select at established minimum rate for departmentAstute, close attention to detailUnderstand and properly follow all selecting procedures and verbal instructions in your respective area: grocery, repack, cooler/freezer.Possess an understanding of procedures in other areas of the warehouse for a more global understanding of all processesGood judgment is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available.Work Environment:Onsite Role:This position requires the associate to perform all duties at one of our UNFI locations, such as a distribution center or officePhysical Environment/Demands:Exposed to temperatures ranging from -20 degrees below zero to 35 degrees Fahrenheit in Perishable Operation and 37 degrees to 90 degrees Fahrenheit in Grocery OperationAbility to do repetitious arm, wrist, and hand movements required for maintenance and service procedures.Must be able to work with hands and arms overhead, and to work in or under the equipment.Requires manual dexterity, overall coordination, and good balance to work both at ground level and in high places to perform job duties.Ability to operate work-related equipmentSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focusUNFI is an Equal Opportunity employer committed to creating an inclusive and respectful environment for all.
