Job Title

Travel RN – Freestanding Emergency Department (Night Shift)

Location

Roanoke, VA | Freestanding Emergency Department

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Travel | 13 Weeks | Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Expected start October 2026 | 4 weekend shifts per schedule

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to both high and low acuity emergency department patients in an 8-bed freestanding ED setting
• Manage a patient ratio of 4:1, delivering safe and effective care across varying acuity levels
• Care for critically ill patients, including those requiring emergent interventions
• Administer medications accurately and monitor patient response in accordance with ED protocols
• Collect and coordinate lab specimens and interpret results in collaboration with the care team
• Operate GE equipment and document care accurately using Meditech EMR

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure in Virginia or compact state eligibility
• Minimum 2 years of emergency department nursing experience
• Required certifications: ACLS, PALS, BLS, and TNCC
• Demonstrated ability to care for critically ill patients
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) certification
• Prior travel nursing experience in an emergency or freestanding ED setting
