Salary: $115,000-$120,000 annually (DOE)
Location: On-site
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:30pm (Requires domestic and international travel)

Job Overview

Madison Approach Staffing is recruiting for a Deputy Project Manager I for our client, a leading manufacturer of advanced transportation systems and vehicles. This is an exciting opportunity to take on significant project management responsibilities in a fast-paced, innovative environment where complex engineering and technical excellence directly impact the transportation industry. You'll work closely with the Project Manager to oversee large-scale manufacturing projects, manage cross-functional teams, coordinate with global partners, and drive successful project delivery. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of project management/engineering experience, Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Systems/Electrical Engineering, and familiarity with advanced manufacturing or transportation sectors.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide tactical project management support including team supervision, database management, and progress reporting
• Supervise Project Coordinator daily activities; manage vendor relationships throughout production, delivery, and warranty phases
• Manage project correspondence, tracking metrics, and deliverable closure processes
• Monitor schedule status and milestone progress; address critical issues (cost, schedule, technical risk) through action planning
• Ensure compliance with contract and subcontract requirements; negotiate with suppliers up to approval stage
• Manage customer interfaces during design reviews and reliability meetings; handle scope management and contract extras
• Support Project Execution Team (PET) and Project Cost Management Group (PCMG) meetings
• Attend and conduct project meetings at customer, subcontractor, and company sites domestically and internationally
• Coordinate across internal departments, customers, vendors, and company affiliates
• Prepare reports and documentation for management and customer submittal

Required Skills & Experience

• Experience: Minimum 5 years in project management, project engineering, or project administration
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or Electrical Engineering required
• Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of advanced manufacturing, transportation systems, or related complex engineering sectors
• Project Management: Skilled in meeting management, coordination, contract management, and vendor coordination
• Technical Background: Mechanical, Systems, or Electrical design experience preferred
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Leadership: Strong ability to work across departments, manage vendors, and coordinate with customers and external partners
• Computer Skills: Proficient with project management software, databases, and office applications
• Travel: Must be willing and able to travel domestically and internationally as required
