Senior ap specialist

We are seeking an analytical, detail-oriented, and proactive Senior Accounts Payable Specialist to join our growing Finance team. In this role, you will go beyond routine invoice entry to serve as a critical liaison between Procurement, Finance, and key external vendors. As a senior member of the AP team, you will manage complex payment exceptions, drive vendor statement reconciliations, monitor critical aging reports, and analyze data to streamline core AP processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Complex Issue Resolution & Escalations: Serve as the primary escalation lead for complex invoice, payment, and vendor discrepancies, ensuring prompt resolution and maintaining solid supplier relationships.
• ERP Exception & Workflow Management: Investigate and resolve payment exceptions, system workflow errors, and posting issues within our ERP system.
• Vendor Reconciliations & Aging Oversight: Review and reconcile key vendor statements, identify discrepancies, and coordinate corrective actions. Monitor AP aging reports and critical supplier accounts to ensure timely payments and prevent business disruption.
• Payment Processing & Validation: Support payment run validations, including reviewing exception reports and executing payment reconciliation activities.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary escalation point for complex invoice, payment, and vendor issues, ensuring timely resolution and customer satisfaction.
• Investigate and resolve payment exceptions, workflow errors, and processing issues within the ERP system.
• Review and reconcile vendor statements, identify discrepancies, and coordinate corrective actions to prevent past due balances.
• Support payment run validation, including review of exception reports and payment reconciliation activities.
• Monitor aging reports and critical supplier accounts to ensure timely payment and minimize business disruption.
• Analyze AP data and trends to identify root causes of recurring issues and recommend process improvements.
• Partner with Procurement and business stakeholders to resolve invoice, PO, and payment-related discrepancies.
