Job Title: Teacher Assistant (SPED – High-Functioning Students)

Location: Avenue Y, Brooklyn, New York
School: Atidaynu Our Future School
Position Type: Full-Time
Salary: $38,000–$45,000 annually

At Atidaynu Our Future School , we are seeking a compassionate and reliable Teacher Assistant to support high-functioning students in a special education setting. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working closely with students and supporting classroom instruction.

• Assist the lead teacher with daily classroom activities

• Provide one-on-one and small-group support to students

• Help implement lesson plans and instructional materials

• Support students with academic tasks and organization

• Reinforce positive behavior and classroom routines

• Assist with monitoring student progress and engagement

• Help maintain a structured, safe, and supportive classroom environment

• High school diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred

• Experience working with children or in a school setting (SPED experience a plus)

• Patience, flexibility, and strong interpersonal skills

• Ability to follow teacher direction and work collaboratively

• Basic organizational and communication skills
