LPN or Paramedic - Zionsville, IN

Schedule Part Time, 24 hours/week, Monday, Tuesday, Friday 3pm-11pm Hospital: Witham Health Services Location: Whitestown/Zionsville, IN Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Summary The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides professional nursing care under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse (RN) for assigned patients. The LPN assists the RN in collecting, implementing, reporting, and documenting patient data, reinforcing patient education, and preparing patients for discharge. The LPN is a contributing member of the multidisciplinary Health Care Team and communicates patient needs to all involved disciplines. Graduate from a Licensed Practical Nursing program and hold a valid Indiana LPN license. Continue professional development by attending seminars and maintaining CEUs. Certifications and Experience BLS (required); ACLS preferred. Long‑Term Care experience preferred. Transitioning to Pain Center: BLS and ACLS required; prior pain management experience preferred. IV skills required. Will assist in sterile procedures and provide aseptic technique. Med‑Surg: BLS, ACLS, and PALS required. Hematology/Oncology: BLS required. Essential Functions Maintain professional nursing standards in accordance with Indiana Board of Nursing regulations. Deliver patient care using the Nursing Process under RN direction. Collect, document, and report patient data to the RN. Assist the RN in formulating and revising patient care plans based on observations. Communicate patient data to appropriate health team members. Contribute to the individual plan of care, including clinical care and daily living activities. Implement interventions with appropriate technique and safety precautions. Document nursing interventions and patient responses on standard forms. Administer medications per department policies, reporting responses and observations. Participate in orientation and instruction of staff as assigned. Serve as a patient advocate and, when appropriate, obtain consent. Practice infection control using Universal Precautions, handle hazardous chemicals, and perform CPR as needed. Maintain confidentiality and patient privacy per WHS policy. Provide courteous and respectful customer service to patients and staff. Tasks Unable to Perform Unable to administer Blood products (can participate in verification process). Cannot perform initial assessments or initiate the care planning process including education. Paramedic – Summary The duties of the Paramedic are broad, addressing critically ill or injured patients. Paramedics must interact professionally with patients, families, bystanders, and other responders. Qualifications Valid Indiana Driver’s License and acceptance by the hospital’s insurance carrier. Licensed in the State of Indiana as a Paramedic per IAC statutes. 21 years of age or older. Demonstrated knowledge and skills to assess and care for patients of varying ages and mental states. Ability to follow department protocols, policies, and procedures. Experience One year of pre‑hospital emergency care is preferred.
