Job Title: Medical Surgical Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical / Surgical Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 12 Hour AM-PM Hours per Shift: 11.5 Experience: Minimum of 2 years of equivalent experience required License: Valid RN License or Compact License (Proof of State Residency Required) Certifications: BLS; ACLS preferred Must-Have: - Minimum of 2 previous travel assignments completed - Experience with post-surgical drains - Experience with central line care and maintenance - Experience with Foley insertion - Experience with G tubes, J tubes, NG tubes, and PEG tubes - Experience with IV medication administration and IV push - Experience with wound care - Experience with oxygen therapy Description: A Medical Surgical Registered Nurse is needed for an inpatient unit. The unit cares for patients with a variety of medical conditions as well as post-operative patients. The patient population is primarily elderly but can include younger patients. Common diagnoses include post-operative orthopedic, general surgery, alcohol use disorder, congestive heart failure, and pneumonia. RN patient ratios are 5:1. LNA patient ratios are 3:1. Every other weekend and rotating holidays are required. Telemetry experience preferred. Experience with electronic medical records is preferred.
