Our client has a new opportunity for a qualified Deskside Support Technician to join their team onsite in San Francisco, CA. This tech will provide audiovisual and event technology support, keeping conference rooms, all-hands spaces, and internal events running smoothly through proactive readiness checks, live event support, and rapid troubleshooting. The ideal candidate is calm under pressure, customer focused, and comfortable running technology for high-visibility meetings and events.Meeting Room & AV SupportTroubleshoot and resolve issues with conference room systems (e.g., Zoom Rooms), displays, cameras, microphones, speakers, and control panelsPerform proactive room sweeps and readiness checks to catch issues before meetings startRespond quickly to live meeting disruptions and restore service with minimal impactCoordinate with AV integrators and vendors on repairs, installs, and escalationsEvents SupportPlan, set up, operate, and tear down technology for internal events, all-hands, town halls, trainings, and offsitesRun hybrid event production: audio mixing, video switching, streaming, and presenter supportConduct tech rehearsals with event organizers and presentersMaintain event kits, portable AV equipment, cables, and sparesEnd-User SupportProvide L2 onsite support for macOS, peripherals, accounts and access, and SaaS applications as neededMaintain ownership of issues through resolution or escalationDocumentation & Continuous ImprovementMaintain room inventory, event runbooks, and AV troubleshooting guidesTrack recurring room issues and recommend fixes or upgradesMaintain accurate ticket documentation and clear handoffs between shiftsSkills and Qualifications:Minimum 3+ years of IT support, AV support, or event technology experienceHands-on experience with video conferencing platforms and room systems (Zoom Rooms, Google Meet, or similar)Working knowledge of audio (mixers, wireless mics, DSP basics) and video (switchers, displays, signal flow)Experience supporting live events and hybrid meetingsStrong troubleshooting experience with macOS and enterprise end-user technology (MDM such as Jamf, SSO/identity tools such as Okta, Google Workspace, Slack, Zoom)Experience with Crestron, Q-SYS, Biamp, Shure, or similar platforms preferredKnowledge of streaming/production tools (OBS, vMix, Blackmagic ATEM, or similar) preferredCTS (Certified Technology Specialist) or similar AV certification preferredExperience with Jira or similar ITSM/ticketing systems preferredComposure and sound judgment in time-sensitive, high-visibility situationsStrong communication and customer service skillsAbility to lift up to 50 lbs., stand for extended periods, and work flexible hours for eventsWage Range: The rate for this position is between $20.25 - $27.00 per hour, unless local minimum wage is higher. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
