Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse will deliver coordinated nursing care for a patient or an assigned group of patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process. This role includes supervising and directing the activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff, as well as coordinating care with other healthcare disciplines using critical thinking and professional judgment.

Essential Functions

• Collect relevant data pertinent to the patient's health and situation.
• Analyze assessment data to determine diagnoses and care issues.
• Develop care plans that prescribe interventions to attain desired outcomes.
• Implement care plans, coordinate care delivery, and employ strategies to promote health and a safe environment.
• Evaluate progress towards attaining outcomes.
• Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare providers to provide care in a compassionate environment.
• Provide learning opportunities for patients, family members, and team members.
• Participate in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care.
• Delegate responsibilities and coordinate duties among healthcare team members.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Education and Work Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Acute care facility experience preferred.

Licenses/Certifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice: Required.
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor: Required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor: Required.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from an approved vendor: Required.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from an approved vendor: Required.
• Other certifications such as Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) preferred.

Experience Requirements

• At least two years of recent experience in the nursing field.
• 1 year of ICU experience preferred.
• Must have experience with electronic health records, specifically EPIC.
