Psychiatric TechnicianThe Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) has a career opportunity within the Montana State Hospital - Grasslands.This position is located in Helena, MT at the Grasslands facility, which is an off-site facility of the Montana State Hospital. It is funded through June 30, 2027. After this date, the position may be funded permanently or may be subject to a reduction in force (RIF).Montana State Hospital is seeking full-time Psychiatric Technicians (Psych Techs) for variable shifts, including days, nights, and evenings. Psych Techs provide assistance and support to clients in a therapeutic environment. Responsibilities include supervising and accounting for patients; provide care as directed by medical and nursing providers; observe, report and document information concerning patients' physical, emotional and behavior status; provide and assist with therapeutic activities and activities of daily living; maintains and protects patients' rights; recognize and appropriately response using therapeutic communication and de-escalation techniques with patients.Employees who have successfully completed training will be places in a specified work shift consisting of five (5) consecutive 8-hour workdays followed by 2 consecutive days off. Additionally, shift differential may be available.
