CNA I - Intensive Care Unit Nights

Overview: Join a dedicated healthcare team as a Certified Nursing Assistant I in the Intensive Care Unit, working full-time night shifts. This role involves providing essential patient care, observing and reporting changes in patient conditions, and maintaining a clean and well-stocked patient environment. Key Responsibilities:
This position serves a regional healthcare community in the Southeastern United States, offering a supportive environment focused on patient-centered care and professional growth.
- Assist with patient admissions, including orientation to the unit and equipment.
- Respond promptly to patient needs, either directly or by notifying appropriate staff.
- Support the nursing care plan by performing delegated tasks.
- Ensure patient safety through proper use of equipment and supplies.
- Manage medication and supply retrieval for patient care.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the patient care area.
- Participate in cost containment and accurate patient service charging.
- Engage in educational and performance improvement activities.
- Perform waived testing and maintain required skills per unit competency.
- Demonstrate commitment to customer satisfaction and efficient patient throughput.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required.
- Current registration with the appropriate state nursing assistant registry.
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
- No prior experience required; training provided.
- Strong guest relations and communication skills.
- Ability to read and write English effectively.
- Flexibility with work tasks and schedules.
- Basic computer skills and understanding of age-specific patient care considerations.
- Ability to work variable shifts including nights.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and patient turning.
- Visual and auditory acuity to observe patient conditions.
- Exposure to blood and body fluids with appropriate safety precautions.
