MaineHealth Behavioral Health (MHBH) seeks a Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist to join our Behavioral Health Integrated team within MaineHealth Pediatrics, Kennebunk. MaineHealth Pediatrics, Kennebunk is a well-established practice offering complete care to all ages. This practice is well versed in integrating behavioral health into the patient experience. They value partnership and work collaboratively to optimize patient outcomes. Being integrated into a practice reduces stigma for patients, increasing their willingness to participate in care.

Role Overview
This role focuses on delivering psychiatric care within an integrated pediatric primary care model, with an emphasis on consultation, targeted intervention, and capacity-building. Key responsibilities include: Consultation and diagnostic clarification
- Provide psychiatric consultations to support diagnostic clarification and treatment recommendations for pediatric patients.
- Recommendations are communicated to and implemented by the primary care clinician.
- Deliver focused psychiatric assessment and treatment for acute needs.
- Provide post-hospital stabilization and follow-up, with transition planning to either specialty outpatient psychiatry or return to primary care management.
- Offer asynchronous and real-time chart consultations to pediatric primary care clinicians across southern Maine to support care planning and management.
- Provide ongoing clinical guidance and education to pediatric primary care clinicians in evidence-based assessment and treatment of common behavioral health conditions.
- Support development of primary care capacity to manage conditions such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, and behavioral concerns.
- Serve as a clinical resource to help primary care clinicians and families understand and access appropriate MaineHealth and community behavioral health services.
- Support appropriate triage and referral decision-making across levels of care.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduate of Allopathic or Osteopathic Medical School. Completion of internship and psychiatric residency and/or fellowship training.
- Current or eligible licensure as a physician by the Maine Board of Licensure in Medicine.
- Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology or be eligible for examination by the American Board as documented by written evidence.
- Current DEA Registration Certificate.
- Demonstrated experience or strong interest in child outpatient psychiatry and treating patients with complex mental illnesses.
- Enthusiasm for medical education and mentorship, with a commitment to teaching and learning in a diverse academic environment.
