We are looking for an Accountant to join a team in El Monte, California in a contract-to-permanent capacity. This role is ideal for someone who can manage day-to-day accounting operations while supporting accurate reporting and financial controls. The position offers the opportunity to contribute across payables, receivables, reconciliations, and month-end activities in a collaborative business environment.

Responsibilities:
• Manage routine accounting activities across accounts payable and accounts receivable to maintain accurate and timely financial records.
• Reconcile bank statements, account balances, and supporting reports while researching and resolving discrepancies.
• Support month-end and period-end close processes by preparing journal entries, schedules, and account analyses.
• Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to help leadership monitor business performance.
• Process invoices, maintain bookkeeping records, and ensure transactions are entered correctly within accounting systems.
• Assist with the collection and organization of documentation needed for tax filings and related financial reporting requirements.
• Contribute to budgeting and financial analysis by compiling data, reviewing trends, and preparing summary reports.
• Perform internal audit support activities and recommend improvements that strengthen accounting procedures and compliance.
• Help ensure adherence to applicable accounting standards and state regulatory requirements while staying current on best practices.• Bilingual communication skills in Japanese with at least 1 year of accounting experience, or fluency in another Asian language with 2-3 years of accounting experience.
• Hands-on experience with core accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and close activities.
• Strong Excel skills with the ability to organize, review, and analyze financial data efficiently.
• Working knowledge of accounting software and ERP platforms, such as ADP Financial Services, Great Plains, or similar systems.
• Ability to prepare financial statements and supporting schedules with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Understanding of bookkeeping fundamentals, invoice processing, and bank reconciliation procedures.
• Familiarity with audit support, budget preparation, and compliance-focused accounting practices.
