Senior Penetration Tester, Vice President

Job Summary The Penetration Testing Lead (Vice President) serves as the senior, hands‑on leader and standard bearer for MUFG’s internal penetration testing function. This role blends deep technical expertise with day‑to‑day team leadership to ensure consistent, high‑quality execution of penetration testing assessments across MUFG’s environment. Key Responsibilities Team Leadership & Development: Serve as the day‑to‑day leader, set quality expectations, provide coaching, manage professional development plans, mentor team members, and foster a high‑performance culture focused on accountability and continuous improvement. Operational Execution: Own and manage short‑ and medium‑term deliverables, ensure engagements are delivered on time, coordinate resources and priorities across multiple concurrent testing efforts, and act as an escalation point for complex issues and high‑risk findings. Process & Tool Adoption: Drive the adoption of AI and automated solutions to expand testing capabilities, integrate frontier models and agentic solutions, and improve team efficiency and testing coverage. Technical Oversight & Quality Assurance: Provide technical guidance across application and infrastructure engagements, validate findings and severity ratings for consistency, uphold established methodologies and reporting standards, and continuously improve testing approaches. Program Development & Project Execution: Lead internal projects such as the deployment of new security testing tools, develop and optimize workflows, and apply project management discipline to plan, execute, and deliver team initiatives. Governance & Documentation: Develop and maintain documentation defining testing standards, methodologies, operating procedures, and ensure alignment with internal policies, audit requirements, and regulatory expectations. Stakeholder Engagement: Translate technical findings into clear, risk‑based insights for stakeholders, partner with engineering, infrastructure, and security teams to improve overall security posture, and provide operational visibility to senior leadership. Qualifications 10+ years in penetration testing or offensive security. 2+ years of experience leading teams, mentoring staff, or acting in a technical lead/player‑coach capacity. Experience conducting penetration testing in highly regulated environments such as financial services. Proven project management skills and ability to drive team‑level initiatives. Strong experience developing documentation, standards, and repeatable operational processes. Familiarity with industry frameworks such as OWASP and MITRE ATT&CK. Technical Expertise Hands‑on experience in application, API, network, and infrastructure penetration testing. Experience with identity and enterprise environments (Active Directory, endpoints, mobile devices). Proficiency with operating systems (Windows, Linux/Unix) and databases/data platforms. AI development experience is preferred. Preferred / Differentiating Skills Experience with cloud, SaaS, and IaaS penetration testing and security assessments. Exposure to AI/ML systems and associated security risks (e.g., LLM misuse scenarios). Experience building or maturing an internal penetration testing program. Relevant certifications (OSCP, GXPN, GPEN, GWAPT, or similar). Education Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a closely‑related discipline, or an equivalent combination of formal education and experience. Compensation & Benefits Typical base pay range: New York / New Jersey: $158,000 – $194,000. The role may also be eligible for discretionary performance‑based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
