Molecular Diagnostics Lab Tech - Day Shift (Bozeman)

Job Title Molecular Diagnostics Laboratory Technician – Bozeman (26141411) About the Position This is a laboratory technician position performing in vitro nucleic acid amplification and detection according to established protocols to assist in the diagnosis of animal disease. The employee is expected to expertly and consistently perform assays based on molecular biological techniques (extraction, rtPCR, genetic sequencing, etc.) in an accurate, comprehensive, and timely manner. An understanding of data interpretation, basics of veterinary disease, and quality system regulation is required for this position. The position may occasionally interact with veterinary and livestock producer clients to clarify sample submissions, test scheduling, and communicate test results. Opportunity to cross‑train and assist in other laboratory sections exists as dictated by test demand and seasonality. Laboratory Environment Employees will work in a laboratory environment where exposure to zoonotic disease agents may occur. The safety of each employee is a priority; personal protective equipment and best practices are required. Repetitive motion, prolonged standing/sitting, and some lifting may be required. Weekend or extended work may occur during disease outbreaks but is not routine. Qualifications – Minimum Requirements Education: BS or BA or equivalent/comparable science degree (MS or PhD preferred). Experience: 2+ years in a veterinary diagnostic laboratory or related work (preferred). Legal eligibility: Must have U.S. work authorization and submit Form I‑9.
