Special Education Teacher – Resource (6th–8th Grade)

Location: Summerville, SC

Job Type: Contract

Schedule: 40 Hours Per Week

Job Summary

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to provide resource support services for middle school students in grades 6–8. The ideal candidate will have experience developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs), collaborating with educators and families, and supporting students with diverse learning needs.

Required Qualifications

• Active South Carolina Special Education Endorsement Required

• Valid South Carolina Teaching License Required

• Experience working with middle school students preferred

• Strong classroom management and communication skills

• Knowledge of IEP development and implementation

• Ability to collaborate effectively with general education teachers, staff, and families

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized instruction and academic support to students in grades 6–8.

• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).

• Assess student progress and maintain accurate educational records.

• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents regarding student needs.

• Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet individual learning goals.

• Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions.

• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and district special education regulations.

• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
