Outside Sales Representative
Base & Board LLC | Tulsa, OK (field-based) | Full-Time
$55,000 base salary + uncapped commission

Base & Board builds pallets, crates, and lumber products for industrial and manufacturing customers. We’re growing, and we need an experienced outside sales rep to go out and find new business. You’ll also help our existing customers grow with us.

This is a hunter role. You’ll spend most of your time in the field: walking plants, meeting buyers and plant managers, and turning conversations into long-term accounts. You’ll report to our Operations Manager and work closely with the team that builds what you sell, so what you promise customers is something we can deliver.

What you’ll do

• Prospect and land new industrial and manufacturing accounts, especially recurring, multi-location, and long-term business
• Visit customers and prospects in person on a regular basis
• Build relationships with the people who make decisions: purchasing, operations, plant management, and engineering
• Gather customer specs, volumes, and delivery needs, then work with Operations to quote and negotiate within company pricing guidelines
• Follow up consistently and keep our CRM accurate and current
• Keep Operations informed about forecasts, volume changes, and upcoming opportunities so we can plan production
• Help resolve customer issues and keep existing accounts healthy and growing
• Support our sales efforts online by sharing project wins and helping with our Google Business profile and customer reviews

What you need

• A valid driver’s license
• Willingness to travel regularly within your territory

What we’d love to see

• 5+ years of outside B2B sales experience, ideally in industrial, manufacturing, lumber, pallet, or packaging
• A track record of prospecting, developing, and closing new business
• Experience landing larger corporate or multi-location accounts and long-term agreements
• Comfort working with complex organizations and multiple decision-makers
• Strong negotiation, organization, and follow-up habits
• Experience using a CRM

The physical side of the job

You’ll drive for long stretches and walk and stand in plants, warehouses, and lumber yards, sometimes on uneven ground. You’ll wear safety gear like safety glasses, hearing protection, and safety-toe boots at customer sites. You may need to lift samples up to 50 pounds. Expect noise, dust, forklifts, and Oklahoma weather.

Good to know

This is a full-time, salaried, exempt position. Because the job involves regular driving, it’s designated safety-sensitive under Oklahoma law.
