OverviewAMERICAN SYSTEMS is an employee-owned federal government contractor supporting national priority programs through our strategic solutions in the areas of Information Technology, Test & Evaluation, Program Mission Support, Engineering & Analysis, and Training.ResponsibilitiesSupport all phases of the system lifecycle, from concept to retirementRoot cause analysis of system/component issues and/or failureResearching and reviewing ship’s structural and electrical drawings to support system integration2D and 3D modeling design and drafting of mechanical and electrical assembliesPrototypingInspection and acceptance of material received from procurement or fabricationFactory acceptance testingSupport all aspects of technical data package (TDP) development (i.e., Temporary Alterations = TEMPALT)Draft forwarding letters and process flow checklistsShip check and fit check of submarinesSupport all aspects of system testing and documentation, including but not limited to:electromagnetic interference (EMI)/electromagnetic compatibility (EMC)cybersecurity/information assuranceSupport fleet troubleshooting effortsSupport the creation of departures from specification (DFS)Engage with traditional and Agile project management processes and systems engineering processesIdentify and remove obstacles in the workflowSupport with presentations and briefs to stakeholdersQualificationsHave an active Secret security clearance or the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance (US Citizenship).Minimum of 3 years of experience in Electrical Engineering related to submarine system development, system integration, or alteration development.Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink, Linux, C/C++Intermediate/Advanced in Microsoft Excel, Word, Project, and PowerPointStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent interpersonal and listening skills; Team playerAbility to meet deadlines on assigned tasks and responsibilitiesMulti-task oriented and capable of prioritizing.Pay Transparency StatementAMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $95,000.00/Yr. - USD $120,000/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
