About the Position

Job Title: Sterile Processing Tech Profession: Surgical Services Specialty: Sterile Processing Tech Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 8 hours (23:00 - 07:30) Experience: 2 years of experience required, Level 1 Trauma experience preferred License: South Carolina RN License preferred Certifications: CBSPD and/or HSPA required Must-Have: Experience in sterilization, decontamination, and assembly/wrapping Description: The Sterile Processing Tech will be responsible for the sterilization and decontamination of surgical instruments. The individual must possess a minimum of 2 years of experience in sterile processing. Experience in a Level 1 Trauma setting is required. Candidates are expected to have experience with neuro, GU, robotics, ENT, orthopedic, transplant, and gynecological cases. All shifts will include a holiday rotation, and weekend rotation may be required. The tech may be required to float within the facility to meet operational needs. National certifications such as CBSPD or HSPA are necessary for this role. While BLS certification is not required, a strong understanding of sterile processing protocols is essential. The tech will be responsible for proper sterilization wrapping procedures and the use of steam sterilization testing and monitoring. Candidates must provide all time-off requests upfront, as no requests will be accepted after the contract is signed. Travelers should be prepared for emergency response assignments during hurricane seasons.
