This is a Friday, Saturday, Sunday position. Required skills/certs/exp: Minimum years of experience: 2 years. Traveler experience: Unit will not accept first-time travelers. Locals accepted/rate difference: Yes. Certs: BLS, MOAB. Preferred skills/certs/exp: Skills: Gerontology Certification ANCC. Certs: Psych/Mental Health Certificate.

Job details: Unit will accept 13 week length or longer, through 2/27 end date. Shift: 3x12-hour nights; 18:45 - 07:15, Friday-Sunday. Float requirement: Floating is required. Travelers may float to other units at Novant Health Thomasville when needed. Travelers may also be floated to Novant Health Forsyth behavioral health unit if needed. Weekend requirement: Fri-Sun shift. Patient diagnoses: 18 years and older, patient with behavioral health diagnosis and primary reason for admission, most have multiple medical comorbidities. Dementia with behavioral disturbance accounts for about 60-70% of our patients. We also care for individuals with Alzheimer's, depression, anxiety, mania and psychosis (and all other mental illness diagnosis for older adults).

Special procedures/unit details: We offer ECT and this is performed in the surgical suite not on the unit. Lifts, rolling recliners, Voalte phones, walkers, shower chairs.

Unit systems: PYXIS, EPIC, SBAR, computer, dynamaps, unit geography, visitation limits, patient handbook, care plans all other needs. Unit orientation: 36 hours.
