JOB TITLE: Project Engineer - Civil

LOCATION: San Leandro, CA

SALARY RANGE: $98,612 - $111,654

POSITION SUMMARY:

To provide project design in AutoCAD Civil 3D, including plans, calculations, specifications, and estimates for entire projects and portions of larger projects, with moderate direction from senior staff.

Continued career path development towards license or professional certification.
Travel, s necessary, to support the firm and clients.
Provide other duties as necessary to support the success of the company.
Customarily and regularly exercise discretion and independent judgment, which will ffect matters of consequence to the business or our customers.

Building Relationships and Networking:

Interact with clients nd represent Company in professional nd courteous manner, understanding how performance reflects on Company's reputation and ability to secure return clients.

Solicit work with existing client contacts and ensure return business by providing exceptional client service.
Communicate effectively nd proactively with peers, employees, and management.

Project-related:

Direct nd oversee CAD nd design work of junior staff.
Provide project design (e.g. specifications, calculations, processing, plans, estimates) for an entire small project or portion of larger project and producing ccurate CAD that meets appearance and CAD standards.
Manage smaller projects under supervisor of project manager.
Coordinate with client, under direction of project manager.
Learn the scope and budget available for the tasks assigned and produce work within those constraints.
ssist with preparation of proposals nd budgets.
Oversee overall project budget for managed projects.
ssist in the preparation of task budgets within proposal, under the direction of project manager.
Visit project sites (occasionally) for initial site visit nd to confirm design issues, monitor construction, etc.

Mentoring and Training Staff:

Monitor performance of junior staff in staying within scope nd budget.
Prepare the report nd direct the ctivities of junior staff in gathering data.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in engineering
Current knowledge of professional codes, laws, computer applications, and trends.
California Professional Engineer's license.
Valid California driver's license.

bility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, nd procedure manuals.
bility to write routine reports nd correspondence to clients and agencies.

bility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, nd decimals.
bility to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
bility to do job estimating.
bility to work in team setting.
Excellent customer/client service skills nd multi-tasking abilities.
Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, nd Excel).
Strong in utoCAD Civil 3D.
