POS-059 Are you a seasoned network professional passionate about designing and running large-scale, next-generation infrastructures? Emergent Technologies Inc., a veteran-owned technology solutions provider based in Herndon, VA, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Network Engineer to lead the design, deployment, and support of complex network infrastructures. This on-site position offers the opportunity to work on impactful projects supporting government and enterprise clients. We’re searching for a Network Engineering leader—with both hands-on chops and strategic vision—to join our team in Herndon, VA. Required Education & Experience Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or related field (preferred) Minimum 11 years of relevant experience in network design, deployment, and operations Strong track record of delivering complex, high-availability networking solutions Core Technical Competencies Expert understanding of network architecture, design, and implementation Deep experience with routing (EIGRP, BGP, ISIS) and switching protocols (STP, LACP, VTP) Hands-on with network automation (e.g. scripting, orchestration, APIs) Proven experience in cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP) Working knowledge of software-defined networking (SD‑WAN) technologies Experience deploying and operating MPLS networks Ability to rapidly learn and master new technologies and paradigms Leadership, Communication & Documentation Ability to provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to junior engineers Skilled in authoring clear, comprehensive designs, implementation plans, and technical documentation Confident in presenting network designs and recommendations to review boards and senior stakeholders Personal Traits & Learning Aptitude Self-driven, independent learner who thrives when mastering complex technical challenges through self-study and experimentation Excellent communicator who can bridge between technical and non-technical stakeholders What Will Set You Apart (Preferred Skills) Exceptional depth in network architecture and design for large-scale or multi-domain environments Demonstrated success in diagnosing, resolving, and preventing complex network issues Experience with enterprise or government-scale network deployments Open, curious mindset with a willingness to embrace new technologies Why Join Emergent?
