Staff AccountantCreative Financial Staffing has partnered with a nonprofit education organization in Boston, MA, seeking a Staff Accountant to join their team.About the Organization Seeking a Staff Accountant:Founded over 100 years ago, yet focused on current values including diversity, equity, and inclusionEducation-focused organization recognized as one of the oldest institutions in the United StatesNationally known for hands-on training that provides an alternative career path for their studentsProvides a supportive and collaborative learning environmentResponsibilities of the Staff Accountant:Overseeing full-cycle accounts payable including approving vendor invoices and coding them properlyManaging payments including checks, ACH, wire transfers, and cash disbursementsReconciling vendor statements and communicate with vendors regarding questions or discrepanciesSpearheading the 1099 audits for quarter-end and year-endProcessing payroll on a bi-monthly basis and creating payroll-related journal entriesOnboarding new and offboarding terminated employees in the HRISMaintaining payroll records, resolving any payroll discrepancies, and answering employee payroll-related questionsAdministering benefits enrollments, 401(k) plan contributions, and related reconciliationsGenerating payroll reports for the HR and accounting departments, as requestedBackground Expected of the Staff Accountant:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or experience equivalent (+4 years)5+ years of experience in an accounting role including accounts payable and payroll responsibilitiesQuickBooks experience preferredSalary range, depending on experience: $70,000 – 78,000
