The Proposal Writer will apply proven federal proposal writing, compliance, and strategic messaging expertise and strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with teams and write compelling, compliant proposals and strategic deliverables within tight turnarounds. Leveraging deep knowledge of federal contracting, solicitation documents, and proposal development best practices, the Proposal Writer will enhance narrative responsiveness and help capture teams translate and message complex ideas. The Proposal Writer will also apply expertise to strategic messaging for non-proposal deliverables (e.g., newsletters, presentations). The Proposal Writer will join the expanding Proposal Writing Team in LM Space Capture Excellence, collaborating with cross-functional team members. • Co-author and lead assigned volumes or sections for RFPs, RFIs, and assignments, providing expert writing support as needed.
• Partner with capture and business development teams to craft compelling narratives that reflect LM's value propositions and strategic goals.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to draft and ensure high quality strategic messaging deliverables.
• Develop and provide proposal writing trainings to proposal teams.
• Support proposal writing tool and process development.

Desired skills include:

• Experience in the Aerospace and Defense industry.
• Formal training or certifications in federal proposal writing, capture, or business development (e.g., Shipley).
• Experience using generative AI tools and historical proposal databases to accelerate content creation.
• Background in related proposal development roles, such as Proposal Manager or Capture Manager.
• US Citizen with Current TS/SCI security clearance.

This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration. The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $85,400 - $150,650. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year. This position is incentive plan eligible.
