Director of Accounting & SEC Reporting

Location: Scottsdale, AZ 85255. Team members are expected to work in‑office at least three days per week, with additional days as business needs dictate. What You’ll Do Lead the month‑end close process, ensuring accurate and timely financial statements for monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting. Oversee general ledger activity, account reconciliations, flux analysis, and audit schedules. Serve as the primary accounting lead across key areas, including general ledger, lease, labor, revenue, and corporate G&A. Act as a subject‑matter expert on US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements. Partner with external auditors and support quarterly and annual audit requirements. Collaborate with Investor Relations on reporting deliverables, including 10‑K, 10‑Q, and 8‑K filings. Support the design, implementation, and ongoing improvement of SOX‑compliant internal controls. Drive consistency in accounting processes, policies, and internal controls. Lead, develop, and mentor a team of Financial Accountants. Serve as the Workday Finance SME, owning system processes, configurations, and enhancements. Partner on the adoption and implementation of new accounting standards. Identify opportunities to improve processes, reporting, and operational efficiency. What We’re Looking For Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. CPA designation required; active or inactive status acceptable. 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting and team leadership. Strong SEC reporting experience, including 10‑K, 10‑Q, and 8‑K filings. Deep understanding of US GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, and financial reporting standards. Experience supporting SOX‑compliant internal control environments. Experience leading month‑end close in a complex, multi‑entity environment. Strong systems experience; Workday preferred. Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and drive results. Proven ability to lead teams, influence cross‑functional partners, and communicate effectively at all levels.
