Job Summary:
The location is in Bakersfield, California. This operating room (first assistant) position involves providing surgical assistance in a busy healthcare facility. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day. The role involves assisting physicians, scrubbing in as an RN first assistant, and supporting various surgical cases across multiple specialties.

Job Details:

• Shift: Days, 8-hour shifts, starting at 7:00 AM, with varying length on need.
• Schedule: Monday through Friday with call responsibilities, which may include weekends and holidays depending on rotation. Call hours extend from the end of the shift until the beginning of the next day, with response time of 30 minutes.
• Required Qualifications: Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS); at least 0 years of experience; valid license; EMR experience in Cerner; willingness to scrub as an RN first assistant; appropriate dress code including scrubs provided.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in orthopedic, neuro, and gynecology surgeries; robotics experience; neuro or gynecologic surgery experience is a plus.
• Additional Information: Assist physicians as directed with surgical procedures; scrub responsibilities as an RN first assistant; no charge nurse assignment unless short-staffed; work closely with the manager on block scheduling; coverage for call and float across campuses; hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment or 3 shifts for shorter assignments.
