Data Quality Specialist

Position Summary The CU System Office of Advancement is looking for a Data Quality Specialist to ensure accuracy, integrity, and quality of donor and alumni database records. The role analyzes, monitors, and restores data quality, coordinates with various units to support data governance, and assists senior staff in data enhancement projects. Where You Will Work This position can be either hybrid or fully in-office in Denver. Applicants must be Colorado residents or able to relocate within a month of starting employment. Duties and Responsibilities Receives or collects information and then enters it, using related tools, while independently applying research, analysis, and problem‑solving skills. Uses current standards for indexing and coding within the database to ensure all data input is usable; documents and updates procedural and standards documents when needed. Provides high‑level customer service when receiving and handling requests from internal and external customers; responds to questions via the Data Management e‑mail inbox. Resolves duplicate records in the Advancement CRM using research and analytical skills and multiple databases; collaborates with other teams to improve duplicate‑removal processes. Engages in new and ongoing projects focused on data management, data quality, data governance, and related processes and documentation. Assists or leads training and instruction on processes, policies, or other relevant subject matter as needed. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education or equivalent professional experience. One year of equivalent experience directly related to the primary job functions. Preferred Qualifications Two years of equivalent experience.
