Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Make an impact as a passionate Special Education Teacher supporting students in a welcoming, resource-rich middle school environment. This contract position begins August 13, 2026, and continues through June 3, 2027, offering a full academic year to truly connect with students and make a meaningful difference. You’ll work Monday through Friday from 7:15am to 3:15pm, enjoying a consistent schedule and dedicated planning time.

In this role, you’ll teach and support a caseload of 12 middle school learners with mild to moderate exceptional needs in a self-contained setting. Collaborate with a supportive team of special educators and classroom staff across a total of three EC self-contained classrooms, contributing to a caring, collaborative school community.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid teaching certification in Special Education (applicable state licensure required)
• Previous experience teaching students with mild to moderate disabilities preferred
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Proficiency in developing and implementing individualized educational programs (IEPs)
• Commitment to positive classroom management and student advocacy
• Ability to foster an inclusive, encouraging learning environment

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver tailored instructional strategies to meet individualized student needs
• Develop and maintain IEP documentation in compliance with state and federal regulations
• Track student progress and report on academic and behavioral outcomes
• Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and support staff
• Communicate effectively with families regarding student growth and challenges
• Contribute to ongoing school initiatives supporting student success
