Step into a fulfilling opportunity supporting students across two elementary schools and one middle school in the Ridgefield, WA area. This contract position offers part-time hours—21 per week—providing the perfect balance for professionals seeking flexibility and meaningful work. As an Occupational Therapist in a school-based setting, you'll play a pivotal role in helping young learners access their education, develop essential life skills, and achieve greater independence.
Your expertise will ensure that students receive effective, individualized therapy aimed at supporting their academic and personal growth. By collaborating with educators, families, and support staff, you'll help create an inclusive and engaging school environment for every child.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Washington state OT license
- ESA (Educational Staff Associate) certification required
- Recent experience providing OT services in elementary and/or middle school settings preferred
- Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Commitment to fostering supportive and inclusive educational opportunities for students
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and assess students to determine occupational therapy needs in the school environment
- Develop and implement individualized therapy plans tailored to each student's goals
- Provide direct OT services to students in both group and one-on-one settings
- Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other service providers
- Monitor student progress and update documentation in accordance with school guidelines
- Contribute to IEP meetings and help shape educational accommodations as needed
