Building Engineer

Job Title: Maintenance Technician Job Type: Contract to Hire Location: Columbus, OH Hourly rate: $26.00-$29.00 Job Description: Under limited supervision, performs a variety of routine and semiskilled tasks involving general maintenance and/or repair of client facilities, equipment and grounds. Daily hours are 7am to 3:30 Responsibilities Keep building exterior and parking garage free from snow and ice Respond to tenant requests and building work orders and complete documentation Assist with preventative maintenance tasks and keep records Follow schedule and respond to after‑hours calls as needed Assist with vendors and contractors performing site visits Maintain elevator lobbies Maintain parking garage and loading dock area Maintain exterior grounds: perform trash pick‑up, blow leaves in fall, run tractor to remove snow from sidewalks and garage, use salt spreader on sidewalks and in garage, operate power washer Operate building equipment including a John Deere Gator, tractor, snow blower, power washer and billy goat Keep parts and supplies organized and stocked Assist with overtime and non‑standard hours as needed Complete required training Qualifications 2 years of experience required Should have basic understanding of electrical and plumbing – will be required to troubleshoot issues with toilets and change light bulbs and ballasts HVAC experience is preferred but is not required. Ability to proficiently use hand and power tools Must have strong work ethic and be self‑motivated Ability to work independently as well as with a team Ability to prioritize, multi‑task and manage time efficiently Ability to problem solve and report maintenance needs to the Building Engineer Must be capable of receiving instructions and following through Must be willing to utilize smart phone provided by company Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds, climb stairs and ladders Salary Range Language: The expected rate for this position ranges from $26.00 to $29.00 hourly. The actual hourly rate will be determined on an individualized basis taking into account a wide range of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, education, and, where applicable, licenses or certifications held.
