OverviewUnityPoint Health-St Luke's Hospital PharmacyFull TimeMostly Days, Every 3rd wknd, and 4 (1:30P-10P) shifts per monthProvides services including but are not limited to assessing patient needs, incorporating age and disease specific characteristics into drug therapy and patient education, adjusting care according to patient response, and providing clinical interventions to detect, mitigate, and prevent medication adverse events. Works directly with physicians, other health professionals and patients to provide all aspects of patient care, including clinical and distributive tasks, for patients served within our health system. Helps patients and healthcare professionals achieve clinical outcomes and monitor progress toward common goals. Supervises other pharmacy staff in the absence of formal departmental leadership. Uses resources appropriately and colleagues as needed to ensure timely and accurate responses. Documents as necessary.Checks and assures high quality of IV Room products every time. Ensures timeliness of delivery of final product, utilizing means of maximum efficiency.Enters TPN orders into compounder computer system accurately and timely. Maintains good rapport with peers, nursing staff, physicians and other departments.Becomes involved with Performance Improvement Projects, Clinical Initiatives, and other work projects as assigned, and completes them in a timely manner with attention to outcome. Uses data, good communication tools, and multidisciplinary approach as strategy.QualificationsEducation: Graduate of accredited College of PharmacyExperience: Prefer one (1) year of hospital clinical experience, ResidencyLicense(s)/Certification(s): Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Registered Pharmacist in Iowa or licensure eligible in Iowa. Valid driver’s license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.
