Principal Transmission Line Engineer

FindTalent is seeking a highly experienced Principal Transmission Line Engineer to support a leading utility company operating across Florida and Georgia. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior engineering professional to lead the design and execution of high-voltage transmission line projects critical to regional infrastructure. This position is based in either Florida or Georgia , with flexibility for a hybrid work schedule depending on project requirements. Key Responsibilities: Lead the full lifecycle design of overhead transmission lines (69kV to 500kV), including structure configuration, conductor selection, and foundation systems. Develop and review engineering calculations, technical specifications, and design criteria. Perform advanced modeling and analysis using PLS-CADD , PLS-Tower , and other industry-standard tools. Mentor and provide technical oversight to junior engineers and design teams. Coordinate closely with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure integrated and efficient project delivery. Conduct site visits and field evaluations to gather data and support construction planning. Ensure engineering deliverables meet all relevant codes and standards, including NESC , ASCE , and local/state utility requirements. Participate in client meetings and technical presentations, providing clear communication of project status, risks, and solutions. Support project planning, budgeting, and proposal development for both new and ongoing work. Contribute to internal initiatives to refine engineering standards, templates, and quality control processes. Education, Skills & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, or Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred). Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required (FL or GA licensure preferred or ability to obtain). 7–10+ years of experience in high-voltage transmission line engineering. Expert proficiency in PLS-CADD and PLS-Tower . Deep knowledge of applicable standards such as NESC , ASCE , and IEEE guidelines. Strong leadership, problem-solving, and project management skills. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Proven ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate across disciplines.
