JOB DESCRIPTION:

This position is in the Division of Technology and Innovation, Bureau of Education Data Center reporting to the Chief Technology Officer.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Oversees and directs the day-to-day activities of the Division of Technology and Innovation’s Educational Data Center
• Devising and implementing business continuity and disaster recovery strategies building operational resilience
• Evaluating current systems, processes, and technologies to identify areas for improvement. Stay abreast of emerging technologies, assessing their potential impact and benefits for the Department
• Oversee the design, planning and implementation of local area networks, desktops, telephony
• Supervises the Desktop Support Manager, Network & Telephony Manager
• Responsible for chairing the Change Management process and recording all requests for change
• Direct and manage the collection of software licensure information for software utilized in the Department
• Develop, maintain and enforce IT processes, procedures and policies. Including Florida Cybersecurity Rules and IT best practices.
• Experience motivating individuals and teams to perform at a high level and to embrace change
• Attendance is an essential function of this position.
• Perform other duties as required or assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Knowledge of Operational Change Management procedures and workflows
• Experience in compliance related activities, including alignment with 60.GG and NIST frameworks and remediation of audit findings

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or management information systems, preferred
• Ability to set and communicate goals, establish metrics, measure accomplishments, give appropriate feedback and hold people accountable
• Ability to meet established deadlines
• Ability to communicate technical issues clearly and concisely
• Ability to develop and implement policies and procedures

EDUCATIONAL SUBSITITUIONS:

F.S. 112.219 - Substitution of work experience for postsecondary educational requirements.

• An associate's degree in computer science or related field can substitue for 2 years of direct experience.

• Annual Leave - Employees in Senior Management Service and Selected Exempt Service positions are credited with 176 hours of annual leave upon appointment. In subsequent years, the annual allotment is credited on the anniversary date of the initial appointment.
• Sick Leave - Employees in Senior Management Service and Selected Exempt Service positions shall be credited with 104 hours of sick leave upon appointment. In subsequent years, the annual allotment is credited on the anniversary date of initial appointment.

BACKGROUND SCREENING REQUIREMENT:
