Registered Nurse - Specialty Care

Job Summary The Registered Nurse (RN) protects, promotes, and optimizes health and abilities, prevents illness and injury, and alleviates suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human response and advocacy in the care of individuals and families. The RN is responsible and accountable for compliance with all standards of practice and professional development in accordance with nursing practice acts, policies, ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, Code of Ethics for Nurses, and the Bill of Patient Rights. The RN promotes a caring and healing environment for patient-centered care. Job Responsibilities Assess, plan, delegate, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care in managing a group of patients, serving as a primary nurse and/or accountable nurse, considering factors related to safety, effectiveness, competency, cost, and impact. Educate patients and families in health promotion and disease management using available resources. Utilize a working knowledge of pharmacology and safely administer medications according to hospital policy. Share responsibility for productivity and effective resource utilization, including staffing, time management, supplies, and services. Comply with all nursing practice standards, regulatory requirements, and hospital policies. Actively participate in and support the Nursing Shared Governance Model by supporting the Unit Council, participating in improvement initiatives, and contributing to peer review practices. Engage in professional development, continuing nursing education, and complete all mandatory education requirements. Integrate nursing research and current evidence into practice. Provide a supportive learning environment for new employees and students. Perform duties related to the Charge Nurse or Shift Coordinator role when assigned. Participate in the Clinical Ladder Program as knowledge and expertise develop. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Skills & Experience Six (6) months to three (3) years of Nursing (RN) experience. Collaboration Communication (verbal & written) Judgment/Critical Thinking Organizational Understanding Planning (Organizing, Time Management) Problem Solving Quality Reliability Safety and Risk Management Preferred Skills & Experience Previous clinical nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting. Schedule Notes 12 days, 36 hours per week, every 3rd weekend Required Certifications BLS (Basic Life Support) ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) Required Experience Experience with intensive cardiac patients, including but not limited to CHF, COPD, end-stage heart failure, cardiogenic shock, septic shock, GI bleeds, CRRT, IABP, Impella, and normothermia. Experience with stroke patients, thrombectomy/TNK, and ICU overflow is also required. #J-18808-Ljbffr
