Bus Driver / Shuttle Driver - Local Position

JOB SUMMARY & MISSION
Under the general direction of the Transportation Coordinator on an assigned project (turnaround or capital project), the Bus Driver / Shuttle Driver is responsible for the safe transportation and welfare of employees and passengers to and from designated client facilities.
The Bus Driver / Shuttle Driver is responsible for safely operating company transportation vehicles while following established bus routes in a safe, responsible, and efficient manner. This role requires strict adherence to all traffic laws, Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, company policies, and client safety protocols.
Additionally, the Bus Driver / Shuttle Driver is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and operational readiness of the assigned vehicle, along with ensuring all transportation and DOT records are completed accurately and timely.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure the safety and well-being of all passengers being transported to and from the client facility.
• Report to work at the designated time and allow sufficient time for pre-trip inspections, safety briefings, and route preparation.
• Maintain all required driver credentials and certifications in active status, including:
  • Valid CDL Driver's License with Passenger (P) Endorsement
  • DOT Medical Examiner's Card
  • Site-specific facility badge(s), if applicable
• Immediately notify management of any changes to driving eligibility, certifications, or licensing.
• Maintain a driving record (MVR) that meets company standards and immediately report any traffic citations, incidents, or accidents (work-related or personal) to the Transportation Coordinator.
• Conduct and document required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections during each shift and report any mechanical or safety concerns immediately.
• Identify and report defects that may impact safe vehicle operation, including but not limited to:
  • Tire wear or damage
  • Air leaks
  • Brake issues
  • Horn or lighting malfunctions
  • Fluid deficiencies
• Ensure assigned vehicle maintains proper fuel levels at all times.
• Follow established bus routes and schedules while operating the vehicle safely and efficiently.
• Comply with all local, state, and federal transportation laws while operating company vehicles.
• Follow all company and client safety procedures, including:
  • Wearing a seatbelt at all times while the vehicle is in motion
  • Refraining from cellular phone use while operating or occupying the bus, whether parked or moving
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the assigned vehicle, including:
  • Sweeping and trash removal
  • Cleaning seats, windows, and dashboard areas
  • Cleaning spills and maintaining a safe environment for passengers
• Ensure all seatbelts are visible, secured, and positioned properly at the end of each shift.
• Maintain an orderly and professional environment that promotes safe transportation.
• Observe and comply with all signage and traffic regulations within client facilities, residential areas, and highways.
• Accurately record arrival and departure times on site sign-in sheets during every scheduled shift.
• In the event of an accident or emergency:
  • Follow medical emergency procedures
  • Complete required incident documentation
  • Notify the Transportation Coordinator or designee immediately
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

• Valid CDL Driver's License with Passenger (P) Endorsement
• Clean driving record that meets company standards
• Ability to pass required background screening, MVR review, and drug/alcohol testing
• Strong commitment to safety and professionalism
• Ability to work independently and maintain punctual attendance
• Previous shuttle, bus, passenger transport, industrial, or commercial driving experience preferred

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
This is a local position based in Eagle Mountain, Utah. Employees are expected to report locally and return home daily. No per diem or travel allowance is offered for this role.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to safely operate commercial passenger vehicles for extended periods
• Ability to enter and exit vehicles frequently
• Ability to lift, bend, and perform light cleaning duties associated with vehicle upkeep
• Ability to work in varying weather and site conditions

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position may involve driving in industrial environments, plant facilities, highways, and residential areas while maintaining strict safety compliance and professionalism at all times.
