Shift: 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM Experience: • 2 years of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months. • 12 months of Medical Surgical - Orthopedic Unit experience. • 3 months of travel experience is required. • Experience with Epic is required. • Trauma Level 2 experience is required. • ADN completion required. Requirements: • Candidates must have a Indiana license or compact license (required for submission). • This role may require floating to additional units and locations • Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >40 miles from facility to be submitted. • Flu vaccination required after submission. Declinations not accepted. • No current placement allowed at Program: Simpli Fi Program - Deaconess Health. Pre-employment modules may be required for this role. Additional Details: Required Skills/Experience: One full year ortho/neuro/trauma experience. One travel assignment required. Strong neuro assessment, log rolling patients, applying assistive devices (back brace, immobilizer), Tele/12-lead EKG interpretation, and PIV insertion. Required Credentials: Associate degree or certificate. Preferred Skills/Experience: Chest tube/indwelling drain management, drips (heparin, lasix, protonix), epidural management, PEGs/NGs, Buck’s traction, pin site care, On-Q management, CIWA/BH, and wounds (packing, wound vacs). Unit Details: Recent Epic experience required. Trauma, ortho (broken hip/femur), and neuro patients, including scheduled neck and back and spine/rib fractures. Ratios: Days 1:3-5; NOCs 1:4-7; charge nurse takes patients on nights, but rarely on days. Teaching hospital; may require precepting students and new hires. Shift & Scheduling: Three weekends out of every six week schedule. Every other holiday. Flexible contract hours: 36 per week, or 48 per week upon request. Floating Requirements: First to float within skillset. Deaconess Newburgh (IN) campus (8 miles apart) and potential to float to Deaconess Henderson (KY - 11 miles). 2 HR notice given for cross-campus float. Mid-shift float within same campus.
