Weatherization Inspector

Blue Water Community Action has a job opening for a full-time Weatherization Inspector. JOB TITLE: Weatherization Inspector PROGRAM: Weatherization SUPERVISOR: Weatherization Manager STATUS: Technical, Non-Exempt WAGES: $21.58 – $25.68 per hour Conducts energy audits and inspections on homes to identify and verify the proper installation and effectiveness of weatherization measures.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Certification: Obtain and maintain all required certifications. Energy Audits: Conduct energy audits per funding requirements. Quality Control Inspection: Conduct quality control inspections per funding requirements. Production: Responsible for meeting all production requirements within assigned programs. Home Rehab/Repair: Complete all inspections for the Home Rehab/Repair Program. Contractors: Provide monitoring and technical assistance to the contractors. Record Keeping: Maintain current client files and data entry of client information in program specific software. Provide client data as required for reporting purposes. Monitoring: Collaborate with external monitors to ensure compliance and quality by maintaining accurate documentation, participating in reviews, responding to findings with corrective actions, and using feedback for continuous improvement. Client Education: Provide in home client education as required by program guidelines. Other: Additional duties as assigned.

Share information only with authorized personnel. Improve outcomes results of assessments related to job position, client outcomes, and organizational goals. Attend training opportunities as available. Compliance to Policy: Understand and comply with current organization, regulatory and funding policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS

A high school diploma or equivalency. Some college or technical education preferred. Building inspector and residential construction knowledge preferred. Energy Auditor Certification required (See below time schedule for meeting requirement). Quality Control Inspector Certification required (See below time schedule for meeting requirement) Physically able to inspect all areas of a housing unit (attics, roof, crawl spaces). Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Experience working with low-income individuals. Obtain and maintain valid Michigan Driver’s license.
