Hunt Electric is 100% employee owned and connected by our core values providing the perfect blend of big-company stability, resources, and opportunities, with the tight-knit team culture, creative spirit, and customer loyalty of a local business.**Job Description:****ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES*** Inspect buildings and structures to identify potential fire hazards.* Ensure buildings are equipped with fire control equipment.* Locate fire code violations.* Recommend actions to bring properties into compliance.* Conduct inspections onsite* Test fire protection systems* Ensure buildings are in accordance with appropriate laws, codes, ordinances, regulations, and standards.* Evaluate evacuation procedures.* Replace defective fire detection equipment.**QUALIFICATIONS*** High School Graduate* Power Limited License (PLT) required.* 2+ years of experience maintaining or installing fire alarm systems* Holds a current NICET I or NICET II certification -preferred but not required.* Ability to utilize a variety of hand tools and specialty equipment with proficiency.* Ability to read blueprints and schematics.* Able to climb ladders and manipulate hand tools safely.* Knowledge of AC/DC circuitry and associating low voltage* Ability to use a laptop to program software.* Able to work various heights using a scissor lift and/or boom lift.* Able to perform on-call duties as assigned.* Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.* Ability to work flexible hours including weekends to meet customer requirements.* Demonstrate a high level of customer service.* Self-starter that can work with little to no supervision.* Strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and an ability to learn quickly.* Possess a valid driver’s license and driving record that meets company requirements.* Willing to travel to jobsites.This position is covered by the **MN Limited Energy collective bargaining agreement** with a pay range of $33.44 to $51.07 per hour, as negotiated under the terms of the agreement. All pay rates, benefits, and employment terms are determined and administered by the union**PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*** This job operates at high-end residential and commercial job sites; and is exposed to weather conditions.* Employees are frequently required to kneel, reach, stoop, crouch or crawl and occasionally required to sit.* This position requires the ability, and bend or stand as necessary.* This position requires the ability to move and/or lift objects regularly up to 50 pounds.**PROGRAM INFORMATION*** Work as a LV technician 40 hours per week.* Valid driver’s license required.* Ability to pass the Electrician’s Trade Aptitude Test.* Attend class one day per week through Joint Apprenticeship Training Program (free).* Wages are based on the union scale and increase based on the number of hours worked.* Usually takes about 3 years to complete program and become licensed.**COMPENSATION & CULTURE*** **Good Business, Good People:** The commitment to the community and volunteering comes right from the people at Hunt and it really shows the heart behind our company.
