Retail Sales Associate The CHEF’S TORE Retail Sales Associate helps maintain an atmosphere of superior customer service, promoting the US FOODS® strategy: Great Food, Made Easy. The role involves cashiers, stocking, and customer courtesy duties across various departments. The associate must be passionate about service and model the US FOODS® Cultural Beliefs. Main Ingredients of the Job Work any department as needed including front end, meat/frozen, produce/dairy, dry goods, culinary equipment & supply. Replenish freight and rotate products. Assist during special store events such as vendor fairs, floor resets, and inventory processes. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Front End Deliver an impeccable CHEF’S TORE experience by building customer relationships. Apply skills learned in CHEF’S TORE Way training and model behavior. Perform sales and cash functions in the POS accurately and efficiently. Ensure accurate barcode scanning and report discrepancies. Transfer product between carts and inspect for tampering. Act as receipt checker, verify cart contents, and perform opening/closing functions. Sales Floor and Stocking Increase sales and manage shrinkage; assist customers in locating products. Receive inventory shipments, stock shelves, and ensure proper rotation and quality. Label merchandise accurately, including catch‑weight, plu tags, and blaster tags. Replenish sales floor daily following FIFO. Use reach trucks and pallet jacks safely. Utilize Microsoft Word, Excel, and proprietary software as needed. Maintain product appeal and availability. Assist with price changes, store opening/closing, and inventory cycle count. Customer Courtesy Maintain a safe environment by following safety policies. Report safety issues and correct them if possible. Keep sales floor, front end, restrooms, parking lot, and store entry clean. Collect and return carts to their designated area after cleaning. Perform additional duties as assigned by Store Management. SUPERVISION N/A RELATIONSHIPS Internal: interact with employees of all responsibility levels. External: interact with customers and service/product providers. WORK ENVIRONMENT Retail store setting open to the public with exposure to outside weather. Moderate noise level. Work primarily on a level surface; ladders or elevated surfaces may be required. Temperature ranges from −10 to 85°F. Physical interaction with customers is required. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 6‑12 months of retail cashier and/or stocking experience. One year of retail selling and/or customer service experience (preferred). High school diploma or equivalent. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Desire to deliver exceptional customer service and assist teammates. Fast, efficient, and professional service to each customer. Basic common sense, logical thinking, and basic mathematics aptitude. Motivated, self‑driven, multi‑tasking, prioritizing, independent or team work.
