• Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:2 on days and nights

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license in Connecticut, or eligibility to obtain before start
• Minimum 2 years of ICU or Neuro ICU experience required
• Current NIHSS, ACLS, and BLS certifications required
• Experience caring for ventilated patients and managing arterial lines and central lines
• Strong neuro critical care background preferred, including stroke and post-neurosurgery care
• Ability to work night shifts and every other weekend
• Comfortable working in a high-acuity critical care environment with complex patient needs

Responsibilities

• Provide expert nursing care for neuro-critical patients with stroke, neuro trauma, and post-craniotomy needs
• Monitor and manage patients requiring ICP monitoring, EVD care, and other advanced neuro interventions
• Support procedures such as arterial and central line placements, intubation, and lumbar punctures as directed
• Perform thorough neurological assessments and respond quickly to changes in patient condition
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to promote the best outcomes
• Maintain accurate documentation and uphold safe, evidence-based critical care practices
• Adapt to unit needs while floating within scope to other critical care areas as required
