Production Operator - 2nd Shift

General Job Description The Production Operator is responsible for setting up and operating machinery to epoxy coat and fabricate rebar in accordance with work orders and shop drawings. This role ensures product quality and supports timely delivery to customers. Essential Job Functions Review fabrication schedules and work orders Set controls to create desired bend, cut or angle Activate machine with hand controls Inspect bars for quality; touch up ends of bars with paint Complete paperwork; tag or label each order; maintain daily production records Perform routine preventive maintenance on equipment Follow all company safety procedures and wear required PPE at all times Additional Functions / Tasks Assemble cardboard shipping boxes on pallets Operate overhead crane, forklift, or other equipment to retrieve or remove steel Package and band boxes of fabricated steel Hours Worked 40 hours per week - 10 hour shifts Monday to Thursday Mandatory overtime as required seasonally Fixed shift - 2nd shift, 4:30 PM to 3 AM Physical Demands Stand and walk continuously Lift, carry, push, and pull 25 pounds frequently; lift up to 50 pounds with assistance Climb, bend, twist, reach, and crouch frequently Have eye, hand, and foot coordination for safe operation Vision sufficient to read 12-point font from 3 feet Machinery, Tools, and Equipment Bender, shear, CNC, overhead cranes, forklift, cutters, hand tools, tags and bands, measuring devices, angle finder. PPE Required Earplugs, safety shoes and glasses, gloves, hard hats. Materials and Products Handled Rebar and paint. Environmental Conditions Heat, cold, noise, vibration, fumes, and other potential work hazards.
